Q: Can Assets be attached directly to an Agreement when no Project is used?

A: Yes. Assets can be directly attached to an Agreement in order to inherit rights for a Party that is a contributor to the asset.

Example:

A photographer is hired for a series of photo shoots under a master work for hire Agreement (#MS001), where all rights are granted by the photographer. The incoming photos are referenced by Agreement (#MS001) in order to determine the applicable rights.
